Welcome, thank you for visiting...As I present my work I ponder the notion of “consistency”. in my artwork as in developing a recognizable “Style” or “Look” that would be more recognizably consistent, yet I am forever discovering and responding to what is around me. In doing so, I believe that I want to present myself honestly without limitation or constraint, to ever be the explorer, and in doing so invite you on my creative journey. I am excited with the notion exploring new or re-visited imagery. Spontaneity, intuition, creativity, and the ability to give life in an environment where experiences and emotions are continuous and changing every day!
Exploring new forms, materials, and combinations allows me the freedom to create. I recognize that this is a very personal choice, and I find myself free to start fresh with each art piece and finding fulfillment creating in “real-time” without forcing myself to generate a stylistic identity.
Yes, I want my work to be acquired, but only if that piece or series of pieces speaks to you, the collector, and your own sensibilities which merit bringing my work into your life.
Thank you for joining me on this ever-changing and dynamic journey.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
Any given moment, when there is a color, a shape, a scene, a texture, a shadow, or another inspiring work of art. My work is informed by multiple art movements of late 19th and early 20th Century and artists who often inform my work. Always after viewing beautiful art or landscape.
Enjoy mixing differing media in order to obtain a certain effect, texture, or color variations. I generally work on multiple versions, of multiple ideas, (mini-series) at any given time with as many as 30 to 40 works at some level of development or completion. As the work is developed, even if a radically different idea takes shape, I enjoy the process and letting the work evolve. Much of the creative process are ideas that need further development.
When together with my husband of 53 years, and many supporting artists, friends, it was announced that we had reached nearly $1,000,000. In funds raised after 10 years, through “Art for Life -Arte por la Vida”, an annual fundraiser auction, on behalf of Whitman Walker Clinic, to raise funds in support of AIDS education and prevention services to the Latino(X) community in Washington, DC.
Appointed as A Commissioner to the DC Commission on Arts and Humaninities.
